The convolution operation on the spectra of algebras of symmetric analytic functions
2012
Abstract We show that the spectrum of the algebra of bounded symmetric analytic functions on l p , 1 ≤ p + ∞ with the symmetric convolution operation is a commutative semigroup with the cancellation law for which we discuss the existence of inverses. For p = 1 , a representation of the spectrum in terms of entire functions of exponential type is obtained which allows us to determine the invertible elements.
Algebras of frequently hypercyclic vectors
2019
We show that the multiples of the backward shift operator on the spaces $\ell_{p}$, $1\leq p<\infty$, or $c_{0}$, when endowed with coordinatewise multiplication, do not possess frequently hypercyclic algebras. More generally, we characterize the existence of algebras of $\mathcal{A}$-hypercyclic vectors for these operators. We also show that the differentiation operator on the space of entire functions, when endowed with the Hadamard product, does not possess frequently hypercyclic algebras. On the other hand, we show that for any frequently hypercyclic operator $T$ on any Banach space, $FHC(T)$ is algebrable for a suitable product, and in some cases it is even strongly algebrable.
Homomorphisms on spaces of weakly continuous holomorphic functions
1999
Let X be a Banach space and let $X^{\ast }$ be its topological dual space. We study the algebra ${\cal H}_{w^\ast}(X^{\ast})$ of entire functions on $X^{\ast }$ that are weak-star continuous on bounded sets. We prove that every m-homogeneous polynomial of finite type P on $X^*$ that is weak-star continuous on bounded sets can be written in the form $P=\textstyle\sum\limits _{j=1}^q x_{1j}\cdots x_{mj}$ where $x_{ij} \in X$ , for all i,j. As an application, we characterize convolution homomorphisms on ${\cal H}_{w^\ast}(X^{\ast})$ and on the space ${\cal H}_{wu}(X)$ of entire functions on X which are weakly uniformly continuous on bounded subsets of X, assuming that X * has the approximation…
Homomorphisms between Algebras of Holomorphic Functions
2014
For two complex Banach spaces X and Y, in this paper, we study the generalized spectrum M-b(X,Y) of all nonzero algebra homomorphisms from H-b(X), the algebra of all bounded type entire functions on X into H-b(Y). We endow M-b(X,Y) with a structure of Riemann domain over L(X*,Y*) whenever.. is symmetrically regular. The size of the fibers is also studied. Following the philosophy of ( Aron et al., 1991), this is a step to study the set M-b,M-infinity (X,B-Y) of all nonzero algebra homomorphisms from Hb(b) (X) into H-infinity (B-Y) of bounded holomorphic functions on the open unit ball of Y and M-infinity(B-X,B-Y) of all nonzero algebra homomorphisms from H-infinity(B-X) into H infinity (B-Y…
Holomorphic Functions on Polydiscs
2019
This is a short introduction to the theory of holomorphic functions in finitely and infinitely many variables. We begin with functions in finitely many variables, giving the definition of holomorphic function. Every such function has a monomial series expansion, where the coefficients are given by a Cauchy integral formula. Then we move to infinitely many variables, considering functions defined on B_{c0}, the open unit ball of the space of null sequences. Holomorphic functions are defined by means of Frechet differentiability. We have versions of Weierstrass and Montel theorems in this setting. Every holomorphic function on B_{c0} defines a family of coefficients through a Cauchy integral …
On the order of indeterminate moment problems
2013
For an indeterminate moment problem we denote the orthonormal polynomials by P_n. We study the relation between the growth of the function P(z)=(\sum_{n=0}^\infty|P_n(z)|^2)^{1/2} and summability properties of the sequence (P_n(z)). Under certain assumptions on the recurrence coefficients from the three term recurrence relation zP_n(z)=b_nP_{n+1}(z)+a_nP_n(z)+b_{n-1}P_{n-1}(z), we show that the function P is of order \alpha with 0<\alpha<1, if and only if the sequence (P_n(z)) is absolutely summable to any power greater than 2\alpha. Furthermore, the order \alpha is equal to the exponent of convergence of the sequence (b_n). Similar results are obtained for logarithmic order and for more ge…
Rate of growth of frequently hypercyclic functions
2010
AbstractWe study the rate of growth of entire functions that are frequently hypercyclic for the differentiation operator or the translation operator. Moreover, we prove the existence of frequently hypercyclic harmonic functions for the translation operator and we study the rate of growth of harmonic functions that are frequently hypercyclic for partial differentiation operators.
Classical operators on weighted Banach spaces of entire functions
2013
We study the operators of differentiation and of integration and the Hardy operator on weighted Banach spaces of entire functions. We estimate the norm of the operators, study the spectrum, and analyze when they are surjective, power bounded, hypercyclic, and (uniformly) mean ergodic.
